HAMBLETONIAN 10

OWYHEE

The last American import in the Globe Derby line. A rare and classy trotter by Charles Derby from Ida Wood by the George Wilkes sire Simmons. He campaigned in the grand Circuit on the east coast of America from the stable of T E Keating, and was driven by M E McHenry. He was never out of a place and took a record of 2.11. He stood for a short time in California before being sold to John Robertson.

MAMBRINO DERBY

Was very tall and the son of two expensive imported parents, Owyhee and Lucretia.

 LOGAN DERBY

The Aussie champ  that founded a Kiwi dynasty. After a stellar career, he sired a few foals in Tasmania (his first winner was at Devonport, Tasmania), before going to the Mainland where he sired a few more. Shipped to New Zealand, he stood in Southland and put to better New Zealand mares, the rest is history. Can history repeat?
