GLOBE DERBY was foaled in 1910 and went on to found a champion dynasty in both Australia and New Zealand. You can read all about the history here.  Including the influence on the New Zealand Cup

THE PAST

MAGIC RULE is a son of STARSHIP a champion juvenile and top aged pacer who went 1.54.5 for a mile - a long-standing NZ record. The winner of 16 races, he was also placed second in both the New Zealand  and Auckland Cups, NZ's top races. STARSHIP is from the same family as MONKEY KING and COURAGE TO RULE .

THE PRESENT

PASS THE MUSTARD has been withdrawn from duty at MOUNTAIN VIEW STUD for this season due to fertility problems which they believe is temporary. The stud will be conducting tests and will place him on an exercise regimen in an effort to get him back to full productive health.

A site dedicated to the preservation of

New Zealand and Australia's native harness horse

ONCE the Kings of AUSTRALASIAN HARNESS RACING, there are only around twenty or so GLOBE DERBYS running today, and even fewer stallions. But against the odds this wonderful breed is still producing winners and a group of breeders and enthusiasts are dedicated to helping them make a comeback.

MAGIC RULE winning the International Drivers Championship heat at Harold Park. MAGIC RULE  is one of just six stallions standing in Australia and New Zealand, and will be crossing the Tasman soon to help re-establish the Globe Derby line in the land of his birth.
